I don’t think I have mentioned my sister before, so maybe it is time to give some more info about us two. I have an older sister, Cassie, who is 28 years old, married and has an adorable little daughter, named Elisabeth. On Sunday I decided to let my sister and her husband spend some time alone, so I suggested them to take the child for a walk. I checked some nice places to take a child to and after finishing my research, I had a plan, which included a great surprise to my little niece.
So, I went to my sister’s house early yesterday morning, helped Cassie to dress Elisabeth up and make some breakfast and then walked out with the child. We took the train at the railway station and went first to the Wimbledon Park, where we first walked around the lakes and the ponds. We visited the Ornamental Gardens and then we sat for a little while in the café nearby where I bought her an ice-cream. Then we had lunch in a small restaurant and I took my niece at the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum, which, as you may know, is the largest tennis museum in the world. Elisabeth was mostly impressed by the John McEnroe’s Ghost and the Wimbledon Shop at the Museum.
I left my biggest surprise last. I perfectly know that children are easy to impress, but despite her young age, my niece wants to be a ballerina, like me. That is the reason why I took her to the Eddie Catz Children’s Edutainment Centre. I thoroughly checked their weekly schedule and I was pretty sure that there are going to be a ballet practice for children in the Twinkle Toes Ballet Studio. In addition to the fact that ballet helps children with their co-ordination, posture and concentration skills, the children have a lot of fun, which, after all, is the most important for all of us.
